About Me

Zia Paul promised herself that she’d write a book in her 30’s when she was a child. Why 30’s? She doesn’t know, but after texting small blurbs to entertain her friend over a span of six months, they’d realized that her story should be released to the masses. Zia majored in English before changing majors and graduating with a B.S. in Cinema and Media Studies. Storytelling has always been in her bones and writing comes as second nature. Her writing is influenced by not just her love of books, but being raised with foster siblings, which translated into a passion for social justice, the black identity and relationships in America, and defining our own destinies. 

…oh, and Zia started writing her first book, BEING GROWN, in her mid 20s.
